“Cursed is the ground because of you; in sorrow you shall eat it all the days of your life; thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you, and you shall eat the plants of the field.” Genesis 3:17-18
“Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not yet appeared what we will be. But we know that, when he appears, we will be like him, for we will see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2
When Adam and Eve fell, the earth received a series of curses. And because the soil, marriages, and childbirth suffered the consequences of these curses, God raised up Abraham to be a source of blessing for all families and for all nations (Genesis 12:2-3). This favor that Abraham received, because of his obedience, was also granted to his posterity in Christ, that is, to all who believe and walk in Him (Christ) (Genesis 12:2-3; Galatians 3:16,26).
Yet, originally, blessing was the equipment God gave humans to conquer the earth. Genesis 1:28 says, “And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” This declaration of God, called blessing, is a powerful instrument inherited by all of God’s children to counter the many condemnations aimed at families and nations. It is also one of the least understood spiritual truths that hinders many believers in spreading God’s Word on earth.
The Apostle Peter made it clear that Christians are called to bless (1 Peter 3:9). If you are an heir of Abraham, you are called to bless your own life, your family, your country, and the nations to which your God sends you.
Without the effective use of your blessings, you will not be able to prosper; without the effective use of your blessings you will not be able to overcome the condemnations of barrenness, poverty, singleness, division, etc. that can cripple and block your life.
You are blessed in Christ, but for this you must know how to use your blessings to conquer your earthly inheritance, manifest the Kingdom of God on earth, and become a true source of blessing.
This is what the Lord has put on my heart to share with you through a series of twelve (12) themes.
